The United Nations and the European Union held a strategic dialogue in Baghdad today aimed at strengthening cooperation in support of Iraq’s national priorities, within the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2025–2029).

The discussions focused on key areas including social development, job creation and economic reform, the strengthening of climate and water resilience, and governance. The dialogue also reaffirmed the importance of coordinated, multi-year partnerships to achieve sustainable and inclusive development outcomes across Iraq.
