Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority receives delegation from the Imam Ali Institute for Quranic Sciences in Lebanon
The Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi Al-Karbalaey, received at his office in the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) a delegation participating in a Quranic course and program organized by the Imam Ali (peace be upon him) Institute for Quranic Sciences in Beirut. The institute is affiliated with the International Quranic Preaching Center at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).
During the meeting, Sheikh Al-Karbalaey emphasized that the Imams of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) stressed that their true followers are distinguished by lofty Quranic morals, which form the foundation of social interaction and peaceful coexistence—particularly with followers of other religions and sects. He underscored the necessity of embodying these values in daily life so that they serve as a genuine reflection of the approach of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them).
He explained that adherence to these moral values is essential in conveying the true image of the followers of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them), especially within diverse societies. He noted that the challenges and hardships faced by believers fall within the framework of divine trials, citing the Almighty’s saying: “He who created death and life to test you as to which of you is best in deed.”
Sheikh Al-Karbalaey added that the nature of trials differs from one nation to another and from one society to another; however, patience, steadfastness, supporting the truth, and standing against falsehood represent the essence of the path of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them), despite the great sacrifices this path entails. He affirmed that such trials are temporary, and that the great reward from God Almighty is the true recompense for those who remain patient.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the delegation from the Imam Ali (peace be upon him) Institute for Quranic Sciences in Beirut presented an overview of its most prominent Quranic and cultural activities and programs.
