Several Spanish pro-Palestinian unions and associations organized a 24-hour national strike featuring demonstrations and partial work stoppages across workplaces and schools.

The strike took place just days after the announcement of the first phase of a peace plan between Israel and Hamas, presented by U.S. President Donald Trump. Despite this diplomatic development, organizers called for the continued suspension of work and educational activities to demand an end to the violence in Gaza and the severing of Spain’s ties with Israel.

Protests were held in major cities including Madrid, Barcelona, and Seville, where demonstrators carried Palestinian flags and banners calling for peace and justice.

Union representatives said the action was an expression of solidarity with civilians in Gaza and a demand for the Spanish government to adopt a stronger political stance on the ongoing conflict.
