Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority Visits Al-Zahra University for Women, Praises Academic Excellence
The Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi Al-Karbalaey, visited Al-Zahra University for Women on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, to review the university’s academic progress and reaffirm support for its educational mission.
In his address, His Eminence stated, “This achievement reflects the vision of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) in establishing strong educational institutions that integrate academic excellence with purposeful moral education. Such institutions play a vital role in preparing qualified scientific competencies that contribute to the advancement of state institutions and the broader scientific community.”
He emphasized the importance of recognizing the university’s efforts in attaining advanced academic rankings and maintaining a standard of excellence. He also called for strengthening students’ sense of belonging and responsibility, and for integrated efforts to further enhance the level of academic and educational performance.
Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, President of Al-Zahra University for Women, expressed gratitude for the continuous support of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), noting that it has enabled the university to achieve significant milestones both locally and internationally.
“Among our notable achievements,” she said, “are the university’s inclusion in international rankings and its membership in the Association of Arab Universities. Moreover, the College of Pharmacy has secured first place in the ministerial evaluation examinations among Iraqi universities for two consecutive years — a testament to our commitment to fostering a learning environment that supports scientific research and academic innovation.”
Dr. Al-Sultani added that Sheikh Al-Karbalaey’s visit reflects the continued support of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine for the academic development of Al-Zahra University. She affirmed that the university remains dedicated to nurturing knowledgeable, skilled, and socially responsible women capable of making meaningful contributions to society.
