Al-Zahraa University for Women joins Round University Ranking (RUR)

In a new academic milestone that adds to its growing record of scientific and research achievements, Al-Zahraa University for Women, affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), has officially been included in the Round University Ranking (RUR), a globally recognized academic ranking issued by the Russian-based institution.

The university received official confirmation of its inclusion via email from the ranking organization.

Dr. Zainab Al-Mulla Al-Sultani, President of Al-Zahraa University for Women, stated on the university’s official website, “Al-Zahraa University for Women, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, has officially entered the global RUR (Round University Ranking). This acknowledgment marks a significant academic advancement for the university.”

She added that the university’s inclusion in this prestigious ranking reflects its ongoing commitment to academic excellence and scientific research, aligned with international quality standards.

“The RUR is one of the most prominent global university rankings,” Dr. Al-Sultani explained. “It covers 37 disciplines across the sciences and humanities, allowing institutions to demonstrate their strengths in specialized fields and highlight their academic and research performance.”

In the latest edition of the RUR, Al-Zahraa University for Women ranked 19th among Iraqi universities and 674th globally, with an overall score of 49.823. This recognition places the university among hundreds of institutions worldwide competing in the ranking.

Dr. Al-Sultani emphasized that this achievement marks a qualitative leap for the university and showcases its growing prominence both nationally and internationally. She attributed this progress to the dedication and efforts of the university’s faculty and research teams.

On this occasion, the university extended heartfelt congratulations to its academic community—faculty, researchers, and students—emphasizing that this success is only the beginning.

“We view this as the first step in a long journey toward further advancement in international rankings. It aligns with our vision to serve society and elevate scientific knowledge,” she said.
