Cambodia is preparing to host the 2025 Muslim Friendly Tourism Forum and Fair in the capital city of Phnom Penh from October 9 to 11, in a significant move to promote inclusive and culturally respectful tourism.

According to a statement from Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism, the event will take place at the Cambodia Al-Serkal Mosque (Boeung Kok Mosque) under the theme “Assalamu Alaikum Cambodia: A Safe, Warm, and Friendly Destination.” The initiative seeks to position Cambodia as a welcoming and inclusive destination for Muslim travelers, while aligning the country’s tourism offerings with global standards.

The Ministry explained that the forum has three main goals. First, to promote Cambodia as a safe, warm, and inclusive tourism destination for visitors of all backgrounds. Second, to highlight the country’s untapped potential in the global Muslim tourism market, in accordance with the Cambodia Muslim-Friendly Tourism Standards. And third, to enhance the country’s readiness to accommodate Muslim tourists in line with international trends and expectations.

The event is expected to bring together a wide range of participants, including tourism experts, government officials, Muslim community leaders, private sector professionals, and media representatives. Discussions will center on practical strategies for developing a more sustainable and inclusive tourism sector, with particular attention to cultural sensitivity and the needs of Muslim travelers.

As part of the forum, the Ministry of Tourism will also host a Muslim tourism exhibition booth, showcasing a variety of services and products tailored to the Muslim market. These will include halal-certified goods, Muslim-friendly travel packages, and offerings from local tour operators and businesses. Tourism entrepreneurs, public-private associations, institutions, and stakeholders are invited to participate and present their contributions to this growing sector.

With this event, Cambodia aims to strengthen its presence in the global Muslim tourism market and reinforce its image as a destination that values diversity, inclusivity, and mutual cultural respect.
