In a speech delivered before the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday, King Felipe VI of Spain strongly condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, declaring that "what is happening in Gaza shocks the human conscience and is a disgrace to the international community."

The Spanish monarch emphasized that the world must not remain silent in the face of continued violence. "We cannot remain silent or turn a blind eye to the destruction and bombardment inflicted on the Gaza Strip," he said.

King Felipe called on Israel to halt the ongoing killings, end violations, and ensure the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza. He also demanded the release of all hostages.

Addressing the broader path to peace, the King urged the international community to fulfill its responsibilities in pursuing a two-state solution. He asserted that the recognition of a Palestinian state should serve as a step toward regional peace and stability.

He also voiced concern over the global decline of democracy and the erosion of the values underpinning peaceful coexistence among nations.

Concluding his remarks, King Felipe reaffirmed that Spain will continue to support efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace, grounded in the principles of international law.
