Imam Hussain Holy Shrine launches comprehensive care project for children with cancer
The Health and Medical Education Authority at the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) has announced the adoption of a comprehensive care project dedicated to supporting children with cancer and their families.
Dr. Haider Al-Abadi, Head of the Authority, stated, “Families of children battling cancer can now find reassurance in the fact that the Holy Shrine has undertaken a holistic initiative to provide not only medical care but also essential psychological support for these children.”
He emphasized the significant challenges associated with cancer treatment, noting, “The journey of treating cancer is long and emotionally taxing. It places a heavy burden on families, both financially and psychologically.”
Dr. Al-Abadi further explained that “In response to these challenges, the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) has committed to establishing a specialized institution that comprehensively addresses the needs of young cancer patients. This institution will adopt each case individually, offering continuous care—an initiative that reflects the deep humanitarian vision and dedication of the Shrine’s leadership.”
