Participated by 400 contestants, Imam Hussain Holy Shrine holds memorization competition of Lady Zainab’s sermon in Lebanon
The International Quran Preaching Center at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, in cooperation with the Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him) Center for Quranic Sciences, held a competition in Lebanon to memorize the sermon of Lady Zainab (peace be upon her), with the participation of more than 400 male and female contestants of various ages.
Mr. Ali Abu Al-Hassan, the head of the center's branch in Lebanon, said: "The competition witnessed broad participation from diverse segments, and demonstrated a great deal of interaction with the Quranic and Zainabian discourse. The matter was not limited to memorization alone, but was accompanied by an educational and cognitive aspect that enabled participants to gain a deeper understanding of the meanings of the blessed sermon." He pointed out that, "The preparation period for the competition included a series of lectures that addressed the contents of the Zainabian sermon and clarified the Quranic verses that correspond to its meanings, with the aim of instilling Quranic values and enhancing awareness of the message of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them)."
Abu Al-Hassan added, "The competition represents an important step in a series of Quranic and educational programs implemented by the Center's branch in Lebanon, which aim to instill Quranic culture and disseminate the heritage of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) among various segments of society."
