The Secretary-General of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, Mr. Hassan Rashid Al-Abayechi, has announced the implementation of advanced technologies to enhance security during the Arbaeen pilgrimage. This includes the deployment of more than 2,000 AI-powered smart surveillance cameras, as well as the integration of cybersecurity measures to protect communication networks and infrastructure.

“The Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain continues to advance its security and technical systems in service of the pilgrims,” Al-Abayechi stated. “Approximately 2,000 smart cameras have been installed, all equipped with artificial intelligence capabilities to analyze data, detect suspicious behavior, and monitor violations or unusual activities.”

He noted that the cameras are directly linked to the Security Department’s control and monitoring centers, playing a crucial role in early threat detection and enhancing preventative measures. “The system utilizes facial recognition and behavioral analysis technologies to ensure the safety and security of pilgrims throughout the pilgrimage area,” he added.
