As part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts, a delegation from the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) visited cancer patients in Basra Governorate, carrying the sacred banner of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) — a symbol of hope, patience, and spiritual strength. The visit aimed to uplift the spirits of patients and offer them emotional and moral support.

Mr. Fadhel Awaz, head of the delegation, stated, “In alignment with the activities centered around raising the banner of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), our team undertook a humanitarian initiative to visit cancer patients at Al-Sadr Teaching Hospital, the Thalassemia Center, the Specialized Children's Hospital, and the Thaqalain Oncology Hospital — which operates under the Health and Medical Education Authority of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine.”

He added, “During these visits, the delegation offered prayers and provided psychological support, expressing solidarity with patients and delivering the spiritual blessings of Karbala to those enduring illness.”

At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation emphasized that the message of Ashura transcends mourning. It stands as a timeless humanitarian call, embodying the values of patience, altruism, and sacrifice for the dignity and well-being of humanity.
