The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine welcomed a Palestinian delegation in a visit aimed at deepening cooperation and solidarity between the Iraqi and Palestinian peoples. The delegation included religious and cultural figures and was received by the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi Al-Karbalaey, alongside the Shrine’s Secretary-General, Mr. Hassan Rashid Al-Abayechi, and other Shrine officials.

During the visit, the delegation toured the Holy Shrine and was briefed on key cultural and service projects that serve pilgrims from Iraq and across the Islamic world—reflecting the Shrine’s commitment to service and outreach.

In a speech, Sheikh Al-Karbalaey praised the resilience of the Palestinian people, emphasizing that their sacrifices in the face of aggression reflect the true values of Islam.

“You are following the path of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) in rejecting injustice and confronting tyranny,” he said. “Your steadfastness reflects the spirit of sacrifice and redemption taught by Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).”

Secretary-General Al-Abayechi reaffirmed the Shrine’s solidarity with Palestine and its readiness to offer all forms of support. He highlighted ongoing initiatives including free medical treatment, education for the children of martyrs, and care for affected families—efforts carried out under the guidance of the Supreme Religious Authority and in line with Islamic principles of defending the oppressed.

At the conclusion of the visit, a spokesperson for the Palestinian delegation expressed heartfelt gratitude for the warm reception and generous hospitality. He emphasized the strong historical and religious ties between Iraqis and Palestinians and the importance of such visits in fostering cooperation and unity among Islamic institutions.

He also commended the service and cultural initiatives of the Shrine, describing them as a reflection of authentic Islamic values.
