Al-Karbalaey to Gaza’s wounded: Palestinian sacrifices embody the principles of Islam
Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi Al-Karbalaey, representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, received a group of wounded Palestinians currently undergoing treatment in Iraq. The meeting took place in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, Mr. Hassan Rashid Al-Abayechi, along with several dignitaries.
In his address, Sheikh Al-Karbalaey expressed deep admiration and solidarity with the Palestinian people, stating: “Peace be upon the heroes, peace be upon the brave, peace be upon the steadfast—those who have endured aggression, starvation, and persecution, and who have stood firm in the face of oppression, arrogance, and tyranny.”
He continued, “Today, you are a symbol of Islamic dignity and pride. Your sacrifices and steadfastness have moved the world. Through your blood and unwavering determination, you have proven that there are people who cannot be broken, despite the siege, bombardment, and suffering.”
Al-Karbalaey emphasized that the suffering and perseverance of the Palestinian people are a living embodiment of Islamic values. “You have set a wonderful example of steadfastness in adhering to Quranic principles and have stood up to the most brutal tyrants of our time. Today, you represent the stance of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), who sacrificed himself and his family in order to reject injustice.”
He also reaffirmed the unwavering position of the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Al-Sistani, in support of the Palestinian people. “His Eminence has always stood with the oppressed people of Palestine,” he noted, “and this support continues through all available means.”
Al-Karbalaey stressed the readiness of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain to offer various forms of aid to the wounded and their families—including free medical treatment, education for the children of martyrs, and ongoing care for families affected by the conflict. “We are here to serve you, ready to provide free treatment, free education, and the needs of your families. This is our religious and humanitarian duty, and it embodies the principles of Islam in a time of widespread inaction.”
He extended gratitude to all those working to care for Gaza’s wounded. “Thank you to every individual and institution that has contributed to the treatment and support of the wounded from Gaza. May God accept your efforts and reward you generously.”
Al-Karbalaey concluded with prayers for the people of Palestine and Lebanon: “By God, I pray for them every morning and evening—for victory, for relief, and for divine support. May God never forget them, grant them triumph over their oppressors, and reward their sacrifices.”
This meeting is part of a broader series of humanitarian initiatives launched by the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), reflecting the stance of the Supreme Religious Authority and reaffirming Iraq’s official and popular support for the Palestinian cause and for those affected by the ongoing aggression on Gaza.
