Iraq’s Prime Minister commends achievements of Warith International Foundation for Oncology

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani received a delegation from the Warith Charitable Foundation, affiliated with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him), led by the Chairman of the Health and Medical Education Authority.

The delegation presented the key accomplishments of the Warith International Foundation for Oncology, highlighting its growing capacity to provide advanced cancer treatment to patients from across Iraq in line with international standards. The meeting also addressed future expansion plans aimed at meeting the increasing national demand for oncology care.

Prime Minister Al-Sudani expressed his full support for the foundation’s humanitarian mission and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to backing the health initiatives of Iraq’s holy shrines and the broader private medical sector. He instructed relevant authorities to facilitate the foundation’s continued work and expansion.

He also praised the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine’s contributions to healthcare development, citing institutions such as Al-Thaqalayn Oncology Hospital, Al-Mujtaba Center, and the Warith Foundation for collectively providing care to over 10% of Iraq’s cancer patients.

This meeting underscores the Health and Medical Education Authority’s dedication to strengthening national partnerships, advancing cancer care, and reducing the burden on patients by offering high-quality local treatment that promotes health equity across Iraq.
