Wreaths of flowers adorn Imam Hussain Holy Shrine on the birth anniversary of Lady Fatima Al-Masouma (peace be upon her)
In celebration of the birth anniversary of Lady Fatima Al-Masouma (peace be upon her), the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine was beautifully decorated with floral wreaths, honoring her esteemed status among the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them).
According to historical accounts, Lady Fatima Al-Masouma was born on the first of Dhu al-Qi'dah in the year 173 AH and passed away in 201 AH. She was the daughter of Imam Musa Al-Kadhim, the sister of Imam Ali Al-Ridha, and the aunt of Imam Muhammad Al-Jawad (peace be upon them). Renowned for her piety and knowledge, she is regarded as the most virtuous of Imam Al-Kadhim’s daughters, and some narrations describe her as his most virtuous child after Imam Al-Ridha.
Known by the revered title "Al-Masouma" (the Pure), she holds a special place in the hearts of Ahlulbayt followers. In the year 201 AH, she left Medina to visit her brother, Imam Al-Ridha, in Tus. However, she became ill en route and passed away in the city of Qom, where she was buried. Her shrine remains a significant site of pilgrimage.
It has been narrated from Imam Al-Ridha (peace be upon him): “Whoever visits Al-Masouma in Qom will be granted Paradise.”
